Fed up of form processing scripts that don't work? (they are made by idiots)Softform requires ZERO configuration! Just upload it, point your HTML form at it, and err, that's it!Q: What? Surely you need to set the email address to which the form is sent? Q: Great, but I want advanced options! One file! Download it here, upload to your server, and point your HTML forms at it!You can ignore the advanced features (it'll work without them), but if you want:
Can I make it fit my website design?Just do a PHP include() to insert the script into your chosen web page: <?php include('softform.php'); ?>. Don't worry if you don't know what this is. It's optional and you don't need it - the script auto-detects everything and behaves accordingly. Look, you say it's easy but I've never done this before. How do I set up this script?Ok, download the script here. Open it with Notepad. At the top you will see a spot where you enter the email address to which the form should be sent. Enter your email address and save the file. Upload the file to your website. That's it. Now just set your HTML forms with the script's URL and you'll receive your forms as emails! I don't know how to set my HTML forms with the script...Yeah, ok, now you're asking me to give you a Dreamweaver or Micro$hit FrontPage tutorial. In Dreamweaver, create your HTML form. Click on the form and in the Form Properties you will see a box called ACTION. In that box enter the URL to the script that you have downloaded from me and uploaded to your website. The URL is probably www.your-website.com/softform.php. It's pretty much the same in FrontPage. Right click on the form, go Form Properties, choose 'Custom ISAPI' in the 'Send To Other' menu. Then click options and enter the URL to the script, which again is probably www.your-website.com/softform.php. --- It's free and it uses PHP. It can be GPL if you want. Let's just call it free. --- |
